Dr. Valdivia, the CEO and founder of Hudson River Analytics, Inc., has more than 15 years of experience in financial services and technology, having worked with investment banks, commercial banks, asset managers, and government-sponsored entities. He has substantial experience in the analysis of accounting and financial information as well as in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, systems, and controls.
Dr. Valdivia has led multiple remediation and restatement projects and has also provided expert accounting and finance advice. Prior to this, he was the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Research at Brad Peery Inc., where he performed the due diligence for investments in private firms, developed research on several public companies for institutional investors, and provided research analysis for over twenty equity underwritings. Previously Dr. Valdivia worked as a “quant” at Lehman Brothers, and as an Economist at the International Monetary Fund.
Dr. Valdivia was previously a member of the faculty at New York University, the City University of New York (CUNY) and Towson University. He has published on accounting topics such as SEC oversight of commercial banks, SFAS 91, and restatements. He is also a speaker and panelist at academic and professional conferences and seminars, and was recently selected as an editorial advisor to the Journal of Accountancy – a publication read by more than 350,000 CPAs.
In addition, Dr. Valdivia is an active member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is currently the Chair of the Society’s Banking Committee and the Chair of the Sub-Committee that organizes the Annual New York Banking Conference.
Dr. Valdivia holds two undergraduate degrees from Stanford University, and graduate degrees from Stanford and Northwestern Universities. He is a CPA and a Stanford Certified Project Manager.
